Still plenty of freshness and quite big, all things considered. Smoothed out a bit but not done yet... (Seemed to improve after open a couple days too; really maybe another couple years to enjoying this wine.)

Out of the bottle it was vibrant and fruit forward with nice intensity and acidity and tannins to match. Through dinner and into evening it evolved quickly with fruit less central and more savoury and vegetal elements. A nice wood spice throughout. Was really pleased for a moment, but some of the brilliance faded. Still a nice drink and glad to experience over the years and evolving over an evening.... 89-90

Similar to previous. This wine is bigger than I expect from ON, and still nicely balanced..

Blackberry, Raspberry, but not super fruity. Nice balance with acidity and tannins, a lot going on. Dryness with mild wood and a bit of basil and black pepper. (Not what I expected from Ontario.)

Tannins are a bit harsh still, but the wine opened up after an hour or so. Very pleasant.

Inky colour Concentrated blackberry fruit with spice notes on the nose. Full and gripping palate. Solid fruit finish. Best in a few years. 3.5/5

Mostly Cab Sauv (45%), Merlot (28%) , and Cab Franc (21%), this has medium+ intensity aromas moving towards savoury notes, but also still offers red & black fruits, currant, mint and cassis aromas. The palate is medium-full bodied with softening tannins and very good acidity. It shows some maturity with dried floral and currant flavours on the palate. Finish length is very good. Enjoy over the next 2-3 years.

Nose: smokey with powerful notes of cranberry, cranberry bog and raspberry. Some interesting earthy undertones (hence the bog) along with cedarwood chips and just a bit of violet and incense. Attractive nose. Taste: dry, light-medium body with very soft and silky texture - not rich, but rather just very soft. Notes of raspberry, cranberry, pomegranate, and a seam of red currant acidity to add balance. Very gentle tannins in the finish. Midpalate suggests some dried figs and raisin, with creamy …

This is the full on five-grape version of the Laura's Red, if memory serves (and it might) this was the first year all five Bordeaux grapes went into the Laura's: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Time has been good to Laura as she continues to age gracefully, both in bottle and in glass. Nose is most prominent with anise, cassis, and mocha aromas; these follow onto a complex palate that adds oak, cedar, coffee, and spice …

Blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc, 3% Syrah, 2% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot. Medium intensity nose showing smoke, earth, black cherry and red currants. Medium+ bodied palate with nice complexity showing vanilla, mint, licorice, currant and cassis flavours. It has mouth-watering acids and a lingering finish. Delicious!

Charred, smoky and savoury, toasted bread and dark currant nose. Rich, solid, and textured palate. Medium-full bodied with good replays to finish. 4/5

Ruby coloured. Nose smoky berry with a hint of cedar. Tannins prominent in the flavour, with a taste of berries. Long legs and a medium finish. Very drinkable, but not outstanding.

Had my last bottle I had been saving. Still, big, bold California-cab-style wine. Well executed if a little bit blunt. This could last another couple years, if you have any around still, no rush.

Bold and smooth taste. A bit dry on its own, but marries wonderfully with a hearty stew.

We tasted this wine at the Ottawa Wine & Food Festival and it by far the best wine we tasted during the whole event. It has a very full forward taste and would be fantastic with a good steak. It will most likely age very well for at least another 5+ years.

This one has to age; not yet ready to drink. We tasted at the winery yesterday and it is still very young. Winery says drinking window is 2012-2014. I would definitely let this sit for a few years and if not, you need to decant it for a few hours before judging it.
