Unique and etherial nose, with black and white pepper, strong florals, black berries. The palate is light, with a balance of acid and dry tannins. Won't stand out in a blind tasting but greatly enjoyable and truly one of a kind.

Has a distinct, pungent perfume-like aroma that would be a better match with an elegant, ethereal body than the fennel-heavy purple number that actually follows. Could this be blended with Dolcetto, to add body and a hint of perfume, or to Lagrein, to add complexity to the nose? This wine was a little underwhelming. The KLWM description sounded fantastic so maybe I was too hyped up on the buzz. It seemed a little amorphous, nothing memorable. However, it improved quite a bit on the second day with more air. I have one more bottle and plan to open it with plenty of time to breathe. It might also benefit from a few years in the cellar.
