Domaine de Fontsainte Corbières-Boutenac Clos du Centurion

After pulling the cork, the bouquet was evident, blackberry, black olive, black licorice and smoke. Once poured, extra dimensions emerged. Black tea, coriander and white flowers, like paper whites. Very intriguing! The palate was big and ripe, not unlike a Port. The ripeness was spot on, but the lack of acidity was notable. With food, the heat of the 14.5% detracted from the experience. The last glass, consumed without food, smoothed out nicely, much to my surprise.
