Modern Rioja with dark fruit and oak. Nice enough but not terribly exciting; rather short aftertaste. -- On the second day, properly decanted and drunk out of larger glasses (Riedel vinum bordeaux), it is much more interesting: warm, harmonious, with minerality and stamina.

What a surprise, and a positive one indeed ! Bought a case of another spanish wine a got a case of this Rioja for free :-) I have not had a Rioja for many years, actually I remember the style as uninteresting... But... This brings ripe red fruit, spice and little vanilla from the barrels. A soft, light, warm, silky wine that is very good - short aftertaste....
