intense and rich, with strong acidity. funky mushroom citrus- durian isn't completely out of place here. cherry syrup and som-oh. It might be a bit crazy, but it's fun, and certainly drinkable.

Not pleasant at all (to any taster.) Nose did become intensely pure SB after time, but sill unpleasant to drink.

Funky, full fruit without anything that says Sauvignon Blanc. Alcoholic. Oxidative. Bad.

Smells like a particularly unpleasant, funky cheese rind and doesn't taste much better with the fruit feeling awkward and hot, and the alcohol really making itself felt.

More Roussanne than Sauv Blanc. Big wine. One of those love or hate wines, I love it.

Fairly rich golden color, intense nose with a lot of sugar and apricot/peach. I can smell the fuzz. Really bright peach/apricot fruit on the palate, with a nice bright acidity but balanced by what seems to be a note of butter from oak. A really nice wine, definitely good on a summer evening.

Straw yellow color. Apple fruit on the nose. Tastes of melon, apple, lemon and lime. Spicy mid palate. Chalky minerality. Rich but bitter on the finish. No where in the same league as the fabulous 2005. I'd rather drink New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs for 1/3 of the price. 15.6% alcohol.

strange wine. no varietal characteristics to focus on, and a very whacked out, (unfortunately) lingering finish of wax paper and whiskey sour. undrinkable to me.

Deep straw color, big grapefruit and citrus. Nose of a much higher quality New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Well balanced acidity, very nice summer wine.

Final Four Blind Knockout (matt's house, highland park IL) : nose: an off teh wall nose that is really interesting and filled with all sorts of grapefruits, smokey tones, roasted nuts, and citrus tones. While they sound somewhat like Suavignon Blanc tones, there's a very different take to them that I haven't smelled before, and it really intrigues me taste: great light feel with excellent acidity and zero detetction of the alcohol.
