Movia Puro Rose

The 2006 Puro Rose is not very rose-like, other than the rich Pinot fruits and slight skin contact, the colour is more white than rose. Disgorged by hand by myself before serving, slightly cloudy, but that is one would expect from a natural sparkling wine. A pungent nose with lively Pinot fruits and gentle brioche character. Note: be careful when disgorging this sparkling, or you might end up with dead yeast all over your walls and ceiling. (77/100)

Had at "The Grey" in Savannah, and they uncorked it perfectly. Still in very fine form, just a touch a VA, toasty, red fruits.

After opening the vivid bubbles are a bit too much for me. They tend to overpower whats inside, which is a shame. After a while, the wine opens up beautifully. Alive and complex with a long finish. The wine is of course unfiltered and has a cloudy orange hue as the bottle still contains it's own lees which are supposed to be disgorged right before drinking. Overall: Amazing stuff for the open-minded. Hard to beat at €22 a bottle.

A very intriguing single fermentation, unfiltered, zero dosage sparkler form Slovenia. It has spent close to ten years on its lees. The nose is clean, very yeasty, with lemon and orange zest aromas. The palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with a pleasant, palate cleansing bitterness on the finish. Medium (+) acidity and medium alcohol. It is drinking well now and would seem to have great aging potential. Really tasty and worth trying.
