It smells like red currant, prune, plum, medium toast, black pepper, butterscotch, burnt match and alcohol/hot. It tastes like alcohol/hot, molasses, bell pepper, black pepper, medium toast, pomegranate, plum and prune. The body is medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long.

A day tasting in the Applegate Valley (Applegate Valley, Oregon) : Wow, this was a surprise! This wine was fortified with Brandy. The aromas are luscious, but offering some nice spiced notes, tartness, and yes, some brandy aromas. Tart palate with good sweetness. The texture is nice coupled with the tart acid. Quite smooth and pretty yummy palate. Good balance. Wow, tons of acid on the finish coupled with other spices keep this quite interesting despite the high sugar levels. …
