Jean Edwards Cellars Syrah Philary Vineyard

Popped and poured. Expressive nose. Red and blue fruits predominant. On the palate, this is like a battle between cranberry and bing cherry, each alternating to be the dominant flavor. Medium plus acidity. Oak treatment is noticeable but balanced. Finishes with a touch of orange peel and some white pepper. An enjoyable wine, though as midtownmac noted, hard to find a lot of Syrah notes at this time (still a young wine though).

No notes on this one yet? It's young, fairly primary still. Pretty color in the glass. Took hours and a surprisingly cool temp ( sitting outside in low 40s) to get this to open up. White pepper and potpourri on th e nose. Some dried red fruit, think plum, and some drying tannins. At this stage I'm not getting any of that savoury, meaty notes I see in some syrah.
