One of the better Chianti's that night. It's a more savory version with flavors that start with cherry and are quickly muted by mushroom and earthy notes.

Lightish red, trace of orange edge. Spicy red cherry aromas. Red cherry flavours, shortish and restrained flavours. The acid says it needs time. Its structure says not too much. I will give it 3 years and check.

A touch of balsamic greets the nose. With air this comes alive. It is pure and unadulterated, savoury and engaging. Fruit flavours are briary and perfectly ripe. There's cedar and wild herbs. Flavours build and linger. Very good.

I wanted to like this more than I did, so I re-corked 2/3 of the bottle and enjoyed it on night #2; much, much better. Red/dark red-fruited, with a traditional blend of 95% Sangiovese, Colorino. Aged ~ 20 months in a combination of Slavonian casks, and tonneau. Not exactly my style, but if it was on an otherwise horrendous (read: most) wine list, it's definitely a safe choice.
