Almenkerk Chardonnay

The wine is yellow. Very subtle mineral notes on the nose. Citrus notes and balanced wood. Some spice on the long dry finish.

Christmas Tweet Up for Elgin Wines (2015) (Elgin, South Africa) : (Tasted Blind): Light lemon colour with a subdued nose that yields dry oak, curry leaves and some workshop wood. The fruit is a little hidden, and that pronounced dryness stands out. Perhaps needs time to integrate.

An intense, inviting nose of chilled white melon, lemon, and Gala apple leads to a lifted, juicy entry with fresh, vibrant acidity with a core of ripe yellow fruits complexed by oatmeal, brioche, and a hint of curry leaves and sage. Well balanced with a rich mid-palate, with an underlying sweetness.

Chardonnay Tweet up in Elgin (Cape Town) : Pale lemon-yellow in colour with oatmeal, mineral and white stone fruit. Lively palate with richness but grace sliding across the palate. Some creamy notes alongside white peach and ripe lemon canele cut zest. Long luxuriant finish.
