Black cherry, raspberry, earth and oak influence dominate - but not particularly intense for a Toro. Tannins are well integrated now. I doubt this will improve with additional aging, so would drink now.

A point higher than the last bottle consumed all the way back in 2016. This has plenty of life left but it never reached the height of what I’ve previously experienced with toro reds. This was delicious and well made, but softer, more delicate than I was hoping for.

Decanted about an hour. Deep purplish ruby color. No bricking. Toasted coconut is the predominant aroma, alongside some rhubarb and jalapeño pepper. Black cherry and vanilla flavors carried forth by noticeable tannins that are grippy, but pliant. Probably in another couple hours the tannins will soften some, but right now they are pretty aggressive. Not terribly complex, but tasty nonetheless. 88-89 right now. Decent mid-week wine.

This was not a polished wine to begin with but like an old boxer battered and weathered (but still fighting on), at 10 years past it has developed a certain "polished" character. Rough but smooth at the same time. Dark brick red in the glass, nice grape florals on the nose, tannic but quickly transitioning to smooth, rustic, earthy, acids noticeable but pleasant, vague dark fruits, lingering finish. Paired successfully with a wide range of foods/dishes. Great restaurant wine if …

Really nice. Cherry fruits, earth, plenty of tannic structure. Great bones for aging on this wine.

Opened 6 hours before consuming. Was medium body, velvety tannins, black and blue fruits, and tasty finish. May improve but drinking well now.

Really good bottle. Initially tight, opening up a bit with time. Strong acid and tannin. Still years left on this one.

Medium weight, nice balance of fruit, acids and minerality. Ready to drink although a few more years may bring out the secondary flavors a bit more as the bright fruit (cherry plum) continues to fade.

A year of sleep has really transformed this from a simple bistro offering to a true value gem and cellar defender. Much more going on in the bouquet and the palate has had an opportunity to weave a silkier texture in the mouth. Though the tannins still hold some firmness, this is probably just hitting full stride and should continue to sail for several more years. Kudos to those with patience... mine are gone. 4+12+16+8= 90

A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied red, with blackberry, tar and licorice, with a spicy but dry finish. www.winelx.com

Not a fruit-forward wine. I've had 3-4 bottles now and there is a muted, slightly bitter, austere vibe here. I would simply echo that this wine is a decent value and very much improves with time. Day 2 > day 1 every time I've gotten into it. 87 day 1, 89 day 2.

Consumed over two days. Actually better on day two. Weighty and chewy body. Lots of fruit and spice. Long finish with some complexity that probably would be more apparent with another year of bottle age. Not there with the Mora reserve, but great buy at $14 a bottle at Costco.

It definitely exceed my expectations. I"a hard to find something better for $16. Fruity at the nose, specially at the beginning, but after an hour it balances out and gets dryer. Short on mouth, but very pleasant. Berries, vanilla, nice tannins, middle bodied. Great for the price! Very good with cheese and meet.

Notes after about two hours open, in which it blossomed out nicely. Color is very dark ruby with medium saturation and a wide, clear meniscus. No sediment present. Light intensity nose, leading with really beautiful fruit and supported with herbs and clove, followed by gentle wood notes of vanilla and white pepper. Nice lift and tension on the palate with lovely balance between flavor, acidic grip, and light easy tannins. Narrow and simple, but what is does, it does well. …

I guess I missed the Garagiste offer but I did get 3 bottles form wine library for $16? and now I wish I bought a case! Drank with a Flannery ribcap and this wine was singing, great acid backbone dark and red fruits good tannin. Young but you can almost feel the balance. Drinking well now with a good fatty meat or should age well! great stuff

I have gone through 4 of the 6 bottles that I purchased from Garagiste. I have enjoyed them and my notes align with others posted. I am going to set the remaining 2 bottles down for a while and see how the wine evolves.
