Roots Wine Co. Pinot Noir Crosshairs Cuvée

Similar to prior notes. Consistently a wine that far outshines its price point. Wish I had more.

I think there is a bit of bottle variation on these. But this was PnP over the course of about an hour or so at annual holiday party. Solid QPR performer as always. Really love this Pinot and this particular vintage.

Quite beguiling.

The acidity, earthiness and lighter weight red paired wonderfully. Out of the gate with red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, fresh herbs, allspice, and a “ woodsy” aroma.

Dark black cherry fruit, earth, actually that is pretty. Flush and fuller mid palate. For sub $20 pinot that works it out.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry, cranberry, red currant, raisin, mushroom, stoniness and meaty. It tastes like strawberry, cranberry, red currant, prune, raisin, mushroom and molasses. The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Loved this wine. Medium body with a fair amount of acidity and little tannin. Earthy, dark spice balances the fresh cherry and Dr Pepper on the nose. A bit more 'burgundian' than many Willamette pinots I've had. Delicious.
