This was the first of my '05 bottles of this producer's PS to open and the years did not treat the cork well. It did present an opportunity to decant this wine which I served at room temperature with a turkey, grilled salmon and avocado salad. The nose was velvety and plumy with a touch of Cinnamon; ripe currants, black cherries and spice notes on the palate; with a pleasing tannic finish.

Impressive effort. Good acidity and loads of fruit in balance with it and the alcohol. Velvety tannins with lots of sediment on the bottle. Full of kirsch flavor.

Very nice. Closed at first, but I gave my glass a whizz (with my portable frother/aerator) and it opened up right away. Currents and berries predominate. Oak is also present. Dry. Medium finish. Will have the rest of the bottle with lamb tonight and report further. Pretty much the same flavor with rack of lamb. Tasty. (So was the lamb. :) )

very nice. Some fall off but not a lot on day 2, so it's still got some years left in it.

All cedar at first pour. Definitely needs a minimum of an hour to open up but once it does it has some nice tobacco and mellow tannins. Good QPR

Aromas of plum, dark fruit compote, & grilled meat. Dense flavors, again loaded with dark fruit & bbq sauce. Structured acid & tannins. Well made, enjoyable wine.

pop n pour not so much but give it 15minutes and bam - you get all kinds of fruit bomb, red velvet cake, cherry, tobacco, strawberries, blackberries, sharp beginning with dryness from the tannins which hits the back of your throat, medium finish. could use a little more time but it really is great now.

C: Opaque purple-black N: A little funk, blueberry P: Intense black fruits, red raspberry on the PnP but it faded to black fruits, black cherry, dusty, meaty, tannins F: Long and dusty The tannins really are noticed on the finish. Overall, this is a very enjoyable, nice QPR wine. Wish I bought more!

Similar to prior note, but takes at least 2-3 hours to open up.

Purple with ruby highlights. Cedar, spice and blueberry nose. Medium to full bodied, intense raspberries, plums, leather, substantial tannins, tart tongue-coating black cherries, and a dry, somewhat herbal medium plus finish. All the elements are there, but it seems a little out of balance.

Nose of dark cherry, spice, and dried herbs. Fleshy, chewy plum fruit and earth. Fat tannins and scorched earth notes form the finish. No score.

Nice balance and body, the fruit really came out after a few hours. This was the winner in our "under $14 PS tasting". The other bottles were the JT Cellars 07 PS (2nd place) and the Windsor Vineyards 07 PS (3rd place). We didn't score them numerically, but I would guess an 86-87 if you're into that.

Stinky nose. Bright fruits but a shortish finish.

I would generally agree with my previous TN, but I think my palate might have changed. I really noticed the oak this time. It was tasty and enjoyable, but not terribly complex (hence the lower score).

Dominated by cassis and blueberry fruit with a good dollop of oak and hints of spice. Solidly made, but not too complex and relatively basic. Decent for the price, though.

Definitely a good wine, but may be on the way down. Or at least at its peak. Sweetness was a bit confusing on the initial pour as a blind taste, but the wine mellowed over the evening and got better the next day.
