Final bottle from the cellar, still has good colour and depth of fruit but no longer soaring from the glass, enjoyable but time to drink up

It was lovely and silky, a deep crimson red with cheery fruit and a touch of earth. Complete but not overly complete. It was a great with roast chicken and Lyonnaise potatoes

Great colour, really bright vivid garnet. Nose is a real expression of Pinot, vintage before appellation, ripe dark berry fruit, mouthwatering acidity. What a lovely glass of wine. Finish is still quite tannic but no shortage of fruit to cover this. Relief! I remember this wine from tastings 10 years ago but other bottles from the case have been a bit evolved and I was worried wine was drying out - no such danger with this bottle - gorgeous silky …

Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Volnay (Rodwell House) : Light ruby red with orange rim. Noted tertiary elements with mushroom, tea leaves and fungal qualities along with plum and damson jam. More black fruited than red with power and depth, intensity of flavour and breed. Fleshy, perhaps not elegant, more sybaritic, sensually textured, with width, brisk acidiy and fine yet firm tannin suggest a quality year over 10-15 years old.
