For the first few hours, this was showing little fruit and hints of funk. So it got set aside for the second night, at which point it was showing red and blue fruits, no funk. A light style but with time the fruits emerge and this is quite nice, though not complex and the finish is short. At the price, probably not a rebuy for me.

Placed first in our blind tasting with some similar bottles from Oregon and California. Some funk at first with an hour decant but blew off by hour two. Strong red fruit. Should get better with time.

Too fruit heavy on the palate and takes some time to come together but showing lots of potential. This will age well.

Incredibly tasty. Candied Cherry or red currant, leather on the nose. Tart Cherry, leather, and spice palate. Love the complexity. Satisfying mouthfeel and aftertaste. This is very nice

Big Burgundy Tasting (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street) : Pretty red over blackberry fruit, sweet spice. Juicy, fleshy, again red over black fruits, a little tannic burr proves talc textured. Balanced, quite nice

Dark berries and cherries, some licorice, a touch of sweetness and firm but good acidity. Really nice wine.

3 hour decant (open 4 hours by end of dinner). Paired with Cedar plank salmon. Medium- body, subtle fruit (blue/red) but nicely balanced with tannins. Very nice now with all that air but will wait a few more years so the air is not required.

Drank over a few days. Delicious wine that evolves nicely and clearly has a long life ahead of it. As the tannins mellowed this showed more darker fruit and shifted from acidity to more sun-kissed purple fruit. Would suggest waiting a bit or decanting to help the wine show.

Day 1, much more fruit forward with acidity lifting the earthier notes. Day 2 the fruit receded a fair amount and some baking spices started coming out and mingling with underbrush. Little heavy for a summer wine (or at least drinking in the sun).

Very red-fruited, with just a hint of brett. Light bodied and easy to drink on a warm day. But the finish was quite short and watery, so down-graded in my view just a bit.

Ruby color. Floral nose. Medium body. Great balance of soft tannins and vibrant red and blue fruit. There are also some cedar and clove spice undertones. The wine has a mild acidity. Not a long term ager, but has a lovely pinot noir freshness. Drink now and for the next 5-7 years.

Pop and pour. This is showing well young with brilliant red fruit, intense but not overbearing, wound around a thick core of bramble, saline earth, citrus pulp, allspice, and nutmeg. The balance on the palate is lovely but this will appeal to fruit lovers as well.

Beautiful dark garnet-red colour with purple tints. The nose is intense and empyreumatic with mild spices notes as cinnamon and nutmeg. Grassy and red fruits notes. On the palate the wine is ample with red fruits notes. Cinnamon and nutmeg notes. Silky tanins. The Mercurey rouge Premier Cru « Clos du Roi » 2015 will marvelously pair with peppered rib roast, beef filet mignon, lamb shoulder or rack of pork and cheeses as Tomme des Bauges. It can be served …

4 hour decant. Enjoyable but young. Needs a few more years for acidity/tannin's to drop out. Glad I bought a case. Highly recommended. Anticipate this 92+ in a few years. Good QPR.

Nose of kirsch cherry and spices. Powerful palate, full of cherries and sweet spices, tannins are there but ripe and fine, no greenness. Quite intense, gourmand, not complex at the moment. Can probably grow old but drinking nicely right now.
