Domaine Jean Tardy et Fils Vosne-Romanée Vigneux

This showed really well tonight, with lively aromas of dark pinot fruit, spiced game, and lavender. Gorgeous cool dark cherries on the palate, well balanced by iron/soil minerals, dried rose, and finishing tart red berry acidity. Impressive structure at this level, with firm but welcome tannins. Really nice and drinking beautifully. Drink or Hold.

Day 1: Barnyard and burnt wood, with strawberry and red pinot fruit. Nice floral component as well. Definitely on the more rustic side. Day 2: the burnt note seemed to dissipate, and the wine seems more balanced, with more of the strawberry, red fruits and florals showing. 89-90.

Had two of these already yet for some reason the third left a greater impression.

Lovely, aerated for a couple of hours and will be even better in a few years time if the '02 is any indication - Dark red, medium bodied with a nose of cherry, plum, cloves, cinammon, spice and vanilla, young, but already nicely balanced, velvety smooth on the palate with excellent length, can't wait for 5 more years! (90 Points).
