Invigorating nose of wild mint leaf and berries. Soft, nowhere near Bordeaux austerity. This has a long life ahead.

Last of six bottle drunk over about three years. A lot of bottle variation — all were purchased at same time and stored in same place. This last one was very enjoyable. Dark crimson. Brambly, red berry nose. Tannic, medium-body, in balance.

Fruity and smooth Merlot-based claret, with some complexity and considerable suavity. As with all wines, storage matters. My recently delivered case from PJs was really past it. The one I bought from them some years ago and stored myself was a treat. In general, Fronsac and Cote de Castillon wines gain in complexity for a decade or so and then fade away.

Dull red color. Hot. Not much fruit. Seems like it’s on the decline.

90% Merlot 10% Cabernet Franc Bricked purple. Opaque and dense. Evolved aromas of savory black fruits with cedar, licorice, and mushroom. Substantial but integrated tannin, med plus acidity, and med full bodied. Ripe plum, dark cherry, orange zest, blackberry, and cassis as well as developing gamey characters. However the aftertaste ends at a noticeable new oak spice of vanilla, toasted almond, and new wood. Tasted blind in a line up of a Left Bank, Right Bank, and a Curve ball. …

PnP, fully enjoyable right now, but still a little angular. Could come together more after some additional time in cellar.

very good wine and qpr, dark ruby color, good length. Will continue to get better over the years. Give it 2-3 if you've got several (I don't)

I was told this wine should be drunk young, and that is damn right. PnP is ok but peak after 1 hour of bottle breathing. Full body, lingering finish. Got to get more.

2013 editon of En Primeur - Kelly and Kevin’s excellent adventure; 3/26/2014-4/1/2014 (Mostly in Bordeaux and a night in Paris) : Nicely concentrated nose of sweet dark fruits, cassis, milk chocolate, mushroom, sweet dark spices and mushroom. Good concentration, silky palate, good acidity and nicely integrated tannins. It will develop nicely at least for the next ten years. A very good wine showing beauty of the 09 vintage.

Seems like RP rating of 87 is harsh. Very dark colour, basically purple. Nose of oak and black fruit. Palate is consistent with nose: black cherry, blackcurrant and vanilla. Decent structure but ok to drink now as fruit is ripe. Another good QPR 2009 if you dont mind the ripe fruit and oak.
