Dark, languid, mysterious, bruising, mouth-coating, savory. Pisoni needs a few years to come together but then drinks well for 5-10. You don't have to hold it forever.

Bought online…WineBid. Open and tasted. Good fruit. Poured a fuller glass and the cherry fruit exposed itself more. Good weight on the palate with a long finish. Outstanding. Drink or hold.

Opened, decanted, and then enjoyed with food and on its own. Josephinen stem. Burgundy red color. Nose offers black plums, blackberries and cherries. Wisp of smoke and a menthol - mint element. Good rich dark fruit with spice notes as an accent. Has depth of fruit but retains elegance and freshness with its acidity. Quite enjoyable. Cork broke 2/3rds down but was able to remove without cork bits in the wine. 14.1% abv.

Our last bottle of this vintage which has shown to be quite enjoyable, especially when given enough air up front and served at "true" room temp. This bottle was as enjoyable as our previous bottle as it was decanted for 30 minutes (with slight sediment) and chilled to ~67F. Returned to decanting this bottle for 30 minutes, and chilling to ~68F. The color was a dark violet and there were lots of dark fruits on the nose. On the medium plus bodied palate these dark red and black fruits were joined by a hefty dose of spice, some earth and acidity that was up to the task of balancing the fruit. Probably has many years ahead.

No time to decant this bottle so it was a PnP. A clear difference on the nose and palate with more earth and spice notes and less dark fruit. There was even a touch of heat on the finish. Pisoni Estate Pinots have a solid decade plus of enjoyment post release but really do show better with some air up front.

Quite impressed as this is my first experience with this wine. Happy to have two more bottles. As much as I enjoyed this wine, I suspect it will be even better in 3-5 years. Small US new arrivals tasting hosted by a merchant. Beautifully ripe cherry fruit, expressed à point. Sparked with fine spice, fine mineral layer of iron and earthy undertones. The palate was wild and admittedly nervous at this stage, but boasted a very fine tannic structure with fresh acidity. Roasted mushroom with rosemary, strawberry, cherry. Cranberry bitterness on the finish with a saline kick. Earthiness is primary on the nose, but fruit shows it self on the palate. Tannins are still quite present & acidity is fresh and apparent. This still has many years if not decades left, sad it was my last bottle. I wish to drink this again in 2032.

Opened a magnum and aired in the bottle for about an hour before enjoying with seared duck breast in blackberry glaze. Excellent wine and perfect match for the dinner. Lots of fruit! Blackberry, blueberry, herbs, smoky with crushed rock minerality. In a perfect place now but still 5-10 years of drinking left.

14.8% abv. Burgundy red, very aromatic. Cherry, raspberry, bright crunchy red fruit. Great depth and length, very energetic. A delicious Pinot at the top of its game. Drink now or over the next 5-8 years.

14.2% abv. Medium burgundy, moderate aromatics upon opening. Raspberry, crabapple and forest floor on the palate. Less boisterous than I expect from this wine, but very well behaved, well balanced, poised. Many years of enjoyment remain.

Pop and pour and enjoyed with dinner and then on its own. Dark purple color. Nose offers dark fruit - cherry and blackberry. Good rich fruit on the intro framed by the acidity and some dried orange peel. A slight herbal note mixed in as well. While this sows more of the dark fruit, it is framed by the acidity keeping this lifted and fresh. Quite enjoyable.

This Pinot is spicy with notes of dark cherries, dried herbs and plenty of acidity. Strong earth notes on the finish but you must decant this for an hour or so to fully enjoy its secondary flavors.

I must remember to read my previous TNs. Decanted this bottle for only 10 minutes - to separate some fine sediment, and to allow the wine to open. Not enough time as it took the wine at least 45 minutes to fully open and integrate -- after which it was as good as the bottle enjoyed in June. The last of my '11 Pisoni's, I only wish I had more. 14.3 abv. Medium burgundy, very expressive aromas. Flavors of boysenberry, raspberry with a healthy dollop of mint. A deep, sensuous wine with great complexity and energy. These wines improved each time I opened a bottle over the past four years or so. Still a lot of great drinking ahead. Fantastic wine.

This was spectacular, out of magnum. Tons of fruit, but so fresh and lively made for excellent balance. Showed better than 2012 mag which lacked the same freshness.
