Magnum drank from PnP through 5-6 hours. Good stuff. Maybe a tad tart. To me it got better after a few hours and stayed in a state for the next few. Fairly complex, with red fruited profile - raspberry and red currant. Has some energy, although cuz I was drinking quite of bit of this, my energy was sapped and forced me into a 30 minute nap. After some hydration, back to it. Opened a 2009 Leoville Barton and 2005 …

Dark, languid, mysterious, bruising, mouth-coating, savory. Pisoni needs a few years to come together but then drinks well for 5-10. You don't have to hold it forever.

Bought online…WineBid. Open and tasted. Good fruit. Poured a fuller glass and the cherry fruit exposed itself more. Good weight on the palate with a long finish. Outstanding. Drink or hold.

Opened, decanted, and then enjoyed with food and on its own. Josephinen stem. Burgundy red color. Nose offers black plums, blackberries and cherries. Wisp of smoke and a menthol - mint element. Good rich dark fruit with spice notes as an accent. Has depth of fruit but retains elegance and freshness with its acidity. Quite enjoyable. Cork broke 2/3rds down but was able to remove without cork bits in the wine. 14.1% abv.

Our last bottle of this vintage which has shown to be quite enjoyable, especially when given enough air up front and served at "true" room temp. This bottle was as enjoyable as our previous bottle as it was decanted for 30 minutes (with slight sediment) and chilled to ~67F. Lots of dark red and black fruits on the nose and palate, along with a good dose of spice, a bit of earth, and nicely balancing acidity. Will continue to hold …

Returned to decanting this bottle for 30 minutes, and chilling to ~68F. The color was a dark violet and there were lots of dark fruits on the nose. On the medium plus bodied palate these dark red and black fruits were joined by a hefty dose of spice, some earth and acidity that was up to the task of balancing the fruit. Probably has many years ahead.

No time to decant this bottle so it was a PnP. A clear difference on the nose and palate with more earth and spice notes and less dark fruit. There was even a touch of heat on the finish. Pisoni Estate Pinots have a solid decade plus of enjoyment post release but really do show better with some air up front.

Decanted for 20 minutes (with slight sediment) and the wine continued to open. The color was a dark purple to a lighter rim. Dark fruit on the nose. The medium to plus bodied palate showed lots of dark fruits (mostly dark cherry and blackberry) along with a streak of brighter red fruit, some spice, and a bit of earth. The acidity was nicely balancing, and any tannins were completely integrated. This bottle was better than our previous bottle about one …

Decanted for 45 minutes with very slight sediment. This bottle was a bit lighter in body and flavor profile than our last few bottles. The color was a dark purple. There was dark fruit and some earth on the nose. There were black cherries, spice and earth on the medium bodied palate - but they were not as vibrant as some previous bottles. Could be bottle variation. Or it could be that this vintage is finally headed downhill. In any …

Another bottle of this (almost) always fabulous wine. Decanted for 45 minutes and served at true "room" temp. The color was a medium to dark purple. As far as the nose and palate - L kept using one descriptor over and over = black cherry! Yes, black cherry was the dominant aroma and taste but there was also some spice and some earth on the smooth medium plus palate, that also had balancing acidity and totally integrated tannins. These last …

Four bottles of this wine (our last from this vintage) came as part of our semi-annual retrieval of wine from professional storage. This is the first of those four and the only thing I can say is WOW! This wine may be 12+ years old but it is still pleasing our palates. The wine was decanted for about 40 minutes and chilled to just below room temperature. The color was a deep dark violet. Dark red and some black fruits …

Decanted for 20 minutes and chilled to 68F. Very similar experience to our previous bottle of 10/8 but with the loss of a shade or two of brightness and the appearance of just a hint of alcohol on the finish -- which we sincerely hope is just due to bottle variation.

Quite impressed as this is my first experience with this wine. Happy to have two more bottles. As much as I enjoyed this wine, I suspect it will be even better in 3-5 years. Lots of spice box, red fruit, and chewy tannins. Going to let the others sleep for a while but happy I bought this vintage and the 2021!

Decanted for an hour and a half to the beginning of dinner and an additional hour to the last sips, with no discernible difference. Our first bottle of this vintage and the wine did not wow us as much as the previous 3 vintages (2012, 2011, 2010). Small US new arrivals tasting hosted by a merchant. Beautifully ripe cherry fruit, expressed à point. Sparked with fine spice, fine mineral layer of iron and earthy undertones. The palate was wild and admittedly nervous at this stage, but boasted a very fine tannic structure with fresh acidity. There was density and a certain fleshiness to it, a more bold style of Pinot which typically I don’t fancy, but this was exceptionally well done. Will need 2-3 years to shine. …

Roasted mushroom with rosemary, strawberry, cherry. Cranberry bitterness on the finish with a saline kick. Earthiness is primary on the nose, but fruit shows it self on the palate. Tannins are still quite present & acidity is fresh and apparent. This still has many years if not decades left, sad it was my last bottle. I wish to drink this again in 2032.

I'll join Thomas with a note, as it seems he and I are the only ones so far to give this a go with a note. Opened about 30 mins ago, right into a Burg stem. I have this a bit warm for my taste (room temp of 74f) but we'll chill it a bit as it's going to join a small vertical of Pisoni Estate later (we're doing 2017 - 2019 blind). Pop and pour and enjoyed with dinner and then on its own. Dark purple color. Nose offers dark fruit - cherry and blackberry. Good rich fruit on the intro framed by the acidity and some dried orange peel. A slight herbal note mixed in as well. While this sows more of the dark fruit, it is framed by the acidity keeping this lifted and fresh. Quite enjoyable.

Popped and poured. This is a medium red wine. On the nose, I get cherries (both red and black), wet earth, and a touch of spice. In the mouth, this is generally crunchy, with tart cherries and some slight cola aspects; the cola continues on the finish where it meets a returning earthy element. Overall, this is a fleshier and fuller expression of Pinot Noir. The wine was fine, but I felt it was somewhat nondescript and never really engaging …
