The 2007 Xurus Sonatina Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon has aged beautifully, with softening tannins, richness and elegance like a true Bordeaux. Winemaker, Denis Malbec's talent and heritage as former Oenologist at Chateau Latour is very apparent.

Vintage Select Industry Tasting (Vintage Select Warehouse, Houston, TX) : My first Lake County cab and it is a beauty. Nose is dominated by black fruits with hints of spice. On the palate, surprising balance with tart cherry, rich black currant, and spice. Long balanced finish. Drinking well right now and should continue to improve. Great stuff.

this cab is really developing well. loads of dark fruit and spice but very well integrated and a nice finish.

Popped and drank with no time to open up. Nose was strong of alcohol overpowering any fruit. However taste was earthy with a bit of cranberry or pomegranite (a slight bitter fruit) A little sour at first. Good structure with medium body and mild tannins. Nice dry finish. I think I will evolve different character after it opens up and a few years may do it well.

Not being familiar with Lake County Wines I can't say whether this is typical or not. The nose matched the elegance of the wine with softer Cab./berry notes and floral hints. I was expecting more body, more fruit and although the wine is very well balanced it seemed to be missing something. This being the first vintage perhaps it is to be merely chalked up to the youth of the vines. I am looking forward to subsequent vintages which I …
