Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte

Clear, pale golden-yellow color. On the nose: lemon, apricot, and nectarine with white flowers, almond, and a touch of brioche. On the palate, full-bodied yet fresh, with yellow fruit and a creamy texture. A long, precise finish with saline, chalky minerality.

I tasted the 2022 Boudriotte side by side with the 2022 Bâtard. They both have perfectly ripe citrus and white fruits and a bit of oak. Over time, the oak gets pushed to the background and I only taste the fruit. The Boudriotte is precise with the acidity carrying the long finish. The Bâtard has more body and peach notes with acidity in the background and petroleum notes, most-likely coming from the oak treatment. Both excellent wines. Given the relative …

Sunny citrus and white orchard fruits with herbal notes on the nose. Great acidity and minerality. Quite saline finish. This matches recent vintages in fruit intensity, and whatever it lacks it makes up for it in its sunny and energetic disposition and palate density.
