Clear medium ruby color. Intense lemon-raspberry notes on the nose with plentiful alcohol. Strong acids with intense notes of lemon juice, raspberries, black tea, and sweet lemon bar notes.

Straight ahead, old world syrah w/ good fruit & high acid. Kinda one-dimensional, but with a really nice finish.

Obvious Syrah characteristics, yet light on its feet. The nose has dark berries, spices, peppercorn and coffee. The palate is well rounded, still lots of fruit here, but typical Northern Rhone Syrah, medium body and almost soft tannins. With only 13.5% alcohol this goes down in no time.

Thought it to be much better than it was. This time ... Meh. Closed? Bad bottle?

Really, really gorgeous syrah with a ton of depth and expressivity. Like a lot of Crozes wines (especially when comparing them to Saint-Joseph, my typically preferred AOC), it was a bit fuller, darker, more concentrated, not so much a fresh, precise style. That said, it still showed some nice savory nuance, which I love in N. Rhone Syrah, and felt elegant overall, despite the bold density. Awesomely pungent nose with black plum and dark raspberry liqueur, a blast of black …

Popped and poured, then drank over two days. This is a solid red wine with some minimal fine sediment at the very end of the bottle. The nose shows blackberry, boysenberry, coffee, and some slight pepper. In the mouth, this is mid-weight and highlighted by blue fruit with a chalky feel. The finish brings nice juicy acid coupled with moderate chewy tannins. Overall, I found this to be a quality but largely nondescript wine; there are many similar experiences one …

Deep bright clear garnet color. Muted milk chocolate and mixed berries nose. Delicious raspberries and cranberries with gripping tannins, a soft texture, and a somewhat hot alcohol presence.

A classic Rhone Syrah. Great nose after some air - warm, rich with spicy blackberry and blackcurrant. Fruit forward with a touch of smoke but less fruity on the palate but with blackberry and licorice. While a lighter bodied wine, it does show concentrated spiced fruit, peppery aroma with a granite minerality of a first-class Cote Rotie (almost) or a classic Hermitage. For a Crozes-Hermitage at this price point, I say load up the truck if you can.

Deep color, purple, pronounced aroma. On the palate-dry, medium acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol, full body, and medium flavor intensity. The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), blueberry, blackberry, jasmine leaves, clove, cedar, sandalwood and forest floor. It tastes like black currant (cassis), blueberry, blackberry, forest floor and bark. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has …

Brilliant Purple and ruby color. Medium viscosity. Jaboulet domaines know how to make great Syrah..and this is no different. on the nose, you get delicate layers of red and blue fruits, bacon, violet, spices, wet leaves and crushed rocks. On the palate, this wine is dry, medium plus acidity, medium plus body, silky, round medium tannins and medium alcohol. You can’t miss the beautiful and powerful mineral/granite overtones. Super well integrated and long savory finish. Complexity in harmonious brilliance..this is …

Medium ruby, but lighter than the Hermitage or Cote Rotie from same vintage, this wine was much more subtle on the nose, with red and blue fruits, cured meats, potpourri and spices. Medium bodied and well balanced in the mouth, with a nice finish of rich fruits, smokiness and minerality. It didn’t have the energy of the Rotie, or the heft of the Hermitage, but it was complex and well balanced enough to be just as enjoyable and excellent value.
