4th Saturday Group Cellar Diminishment (Sue’s) : Black cherry, leather and dark berry fruit tones. Similar to the 2004, with soft tannins and good fruit. Perhaps just a bit more structure than the 2004. 90+ pts. (SS)

This wine needed to open a bit, but once it did....Wow!! Great floral nose with vanilla and plum. My palate uncovered some chocolate, blueberry, and more plum. Nice acids still but the tannins have really softened up. If properly stored, this wine probably has another year or two that it can lay down, but it's tasting beautifully now.

Very dark red color. PNP. Drank 2 glasses over 1.5hrs. This was really drinking nicely, a great last bottle. Lovely cassis notes on the nose with typical dustiness, earth, and dark cherry. The palate is velvety and balanced with dusty tannins, rich layers of cassis and dark cherries and a long bright finish.

Very dark red color. Decanted for 1 hour. Drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. I have not had this in almost a year in half now. It did need the hour to open up and even out still. The nice fruit quality emerges, but not quite as lush now. The nose has cedar, cassis, cherry, spice. The palate shows some sour cherry, cassis, tobacco, dusty, oak, moderate tannins. Drank this along with the 06. Very little difference in them - very consistent. The nose on both had subtle fruit, both very smooth with long finish. The 06 had a bit more spice, tobacco, and cedar on the palate. The 06 was bit better overall.

Gorgeous very dark red-purple color. This wine just blew me away tonight. Popped and aerated into glasses. Drank 2 glasses over 2 .5hrs. I was stunned by how this has evolved. This is classic Napa cab. I love the nose, with smoky cedar, tobacco, sweet creme de cassis, graphite, spices, coffee, and a bit of perfume as it develops in the glass. Very dark red color. The nose is lovely with warm cassis aromas, blackberry, briary, spices and cedar. The palate is showing nice black fruits with the cassis in the forefront, round tannins, dusty on the palate with nice mouth feel, hints of some meat, spicy oak on the medium finish. Drinking as well or better than before.

This wine is always a crowd pleaser. Not a great wine, but perfect for everyday consumption. I'm happy that I still have quite a few left to enjoy over the next few years.

Friends opened this magnum after my '84 Rubicon mag was flawed. Showed like the young wine it is. Same musty nosy as the '84 but fresher. Dark color, medium/full bodied with some sweetness and acidity on the palate. Finish was medium length but full throttled. Still young but showing it will age well. Interesting to see not only the differences but similarities of two vastly separated vintages.

Very dark red color, nose is cedar, cassis, mineral, and spice Palate is dusty with concentrated black fruit, strong tannic structure. Moderate finish. Just getting to where it will show nicely going forward.

Very nice cab with everything I expect- purple color right to the edge, nice nose of spice, fruit, and leather, with mostly a mid palate of fruit. The mouthfeel was nice, with just enough tanin to enjoy and a 10 second or so finish. This is a cab most everyone will like. For $40 I will buy more, and in fact I have!

Opened after a Magnum of 00 D2 at a dinner (steaks) party. Much fuller, lively, complimentary and needed. Full fruit flavor, easy drinking.

Had 2 bottles so decided to give one a try. nice black fruit and herbal nose. good mouthfilll, a little tight,but can tell it is going to age very well. will keep the other bottle in cellar for a few years.
