I don’t know how to use the scale, by what metric I should judge the wine; however, I can describe what I disliked. I am reading Karen MacNeil’s Wine Bible and there are two expressions or phrases she’s used to describe poor quality wine that I didn’t fully understand until last night: (1) describing a wine as quaffable and (2) describing a wine as grossly sweet or popsicle-like.
