Cloudy garnet red. Earthy, soily, and mature on the very Côte de Beaune nose. The palate needs to catch up to the nose however as it is still very grippy. Thirteen years later, tannins are still angular. Finish is bone dry. If you still have this, let it rest for another 4 or 5 years or decant for at least 3 hours. HOLD.

Last tried it in Dec 2012. Really showing its age. Very refined. Popped n poured. Will get over powered by food at this point but would hold up well with a chocolate pairing.

I most certainly was very wrong some years ago stating this wine was near its end! Had to decant this my last bottle of ´06. Powerful and full of tannins. Still somewhat closed and only slowly giving itself away. Buttermilk, strawberries, black currant, liquorice. Not a very feminine style nor a rough one. But sort of inbetween. Still have plenty of life left if only I had more.

Floral notes on the nose, bright cherry flavors with some spice and meat/bacon. Acid still vibrant.

Some of the power has diminished a bit. Still bright red color and a bouquet of strawberries mostly. Strawberries, marzipan, medicin cabinet and a little wood. Medium aftertaste. Not sure this has a long future any more.

Color: Bright ruby/garnet red, with a touch of age providing a burnt-orange tint. Nose: Subtle. At first, savory scents of charred meat, smoke, bacon, old leather, and soil, combined with a floral spiciness reminiscent of dried roses, ginger, and cinnamon. The fruit is not very expressive, but there's a little bit of cherry and cranberry peeking out. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and rugged. Palate: This is quite masculine and assertive, at least at this point in its life. It attacks with …

Decanted 2 hours and it was worth it. This is classic burgundy at its finest. Very well balanced and drank quite well with our Christmas turkey.

The color of the wine is thin and starting to show the pale maroon color of age. Very herbal and spiced qualities of the nose: thyme, oregano, cloves and allspice, along with a little sage and cranberry coming through. The mouthfeel (after a long time spent swirling) was still very wound up and constrained. Tight tannins and a medium-length finish. On day 2, the nose started expressing a little minerality and a little cherry fruit started showing up on the …

Very lovely bottle. Decanted 1 hour before drinking. Liqurice, chocolate, straw berries, marzipan, butter milk. Long aftertaste. Still long life to look forward to. Did not match well with Lamb Chop from grill.
