Another stunner from Guillaume! Simply wonderful to sip on its own - long, balanced and elegant.

Golden and clear. Some stone fruit but really just a really clean crisp version of what you would expect from a Rousanne. Oily, somewhat earthy notes and straw/hay and muted fruit. Med body, light acid. Went great with grilled lobster and butter and was great closer to room temp. Would not guess this was almost 10 years old and has a long life ahead at least 5 years but would drink now if you have a few bottles.

Straw colored. Multi-dimensional and multi-faceted delivering layers of various aromas and flavors, all of which are very clean. Stone fruit, baking spice were most notable to me. This vintage of the Essence is probably peaking and should be consumed with a fruit salad or richly-flavored fish dish this summer.

European-styled and gorgeous. Green apple and grape, celery, grapefruit. Getting the lemongrass and salinity bval described. Very light beeswaxy and oily texture. Long, delicate, light, and harmonious finish. First wine from this producer for me, very expensive but so well made. Drink dates feel about right to me -- another year of peak, maybe two.

Color: medium straw yellow. Strong bouquet of lemongrass, a little citrus, grapefruit, some oak (started very oaky but this integrated with about 30+ minutes), and a touch of rosemary. Balanced, long palate showing saline elements along with wet stone minerality and lemon/lime notes. A well made, very nice wine drinking well now and probably for several more years.

Sipping at Il Cortile in Paso Robles, California. Another winner from Paso Robles. Did anyone say Rhone?

stunning effort. this is what i feel like manfred at sqn wants to do with his california white rhones. but guillaume brings just the right touch of acidity and terroir in to pull it off. excellent.

Clear yellow with medium weight in the glass. Complex and pleasing nose of herbs, lemon oil, pound cake and wet stone. Medium body and mouth coating with spice and fresh citrus blossom. Tropical and stone fruit is superbly balanced with exceptional mineral and acidic focus. Med-long finish. Some of California's best fruit in good hands. If you are serious about wine, Clos Solene needs to be on your radar.

This wine does what it says on the label - it is the essence of Rousanne! It has all the expected floral minerality on the nose and when you taste it you sense the essence of eternal universal balance - there is no part of this wine that grates with the overall effect of near-perfection, and it lingers beautifully on the palate and in the mind.
