Rosenthal Cabernet Franc The Malibu Estate

15.2% abv. Recent auction purchase. Very heavily oaked, dark flavor profile, mouthfeel a bit coarse. Cocoa, coffee grounds, vanilla, rich and ripe fruit. Kind of overdone. Fortunately, integrated a bit with air and became more enjoyable. I tried hard to find some Cab Franc character on the palate, but it was not to be found - too much oak and high ripeness are probably to blame.
