Nice Shiraz. Plenty of savoury fruit, blue and blackberries. A somewhat medicinal tint but in no way unpleasant. Leather and smoke. Good acidity. tannins a bit solid. Medium length. Not at all bad but it was a night of star bottles.

Dark, rich purple. Probably too young. Very juicy wine, and very shiraz, though structured. Redder fruits than I would prefer, and slightly "stemmy" and/or acidic. A bit more ripeness or residual sugar would not have gone amiss. Probably could do with 5 more years, but I don't see this being amazing, in the way the Gravel Hill often is. It's certainty tasty though. 90+

Bright ruby. Surprisingly fresh. Lots of blackberry and blueberry fruit. Some white pepper. Good acidity. Medium plus length. More like a hot vintage N Rhone or cool climate Oz. Still some fairly hefty tannins. Probably better still with a few more years.

Tasted this wine at my year end wine gathering at Jade Palace Restaurant. This wine was awarded the Gold Medal in the 2012 Syrah Du Monde and first place- best Shiraz in the world. Some notes of ripe berries and fig. Style of this wine is closer to a Barossa Shiraz than a Rhone Syrah.

Tasted 2 hours after decanting. Fantastic aroma of pepper, savoury meatiness. Carries through on the palate, with evident tannins and good acidity. A clear step up in quality from the regular Shiraz. Excellent.
