Cloudy dark garnet with ruby hints at the center. Piercing red and black fruits that smells stewed. It is, too; with fig preserve notes dominating. Not my style of wine.

Just found this forgotten gem in the back of my cellar. Was thinking that it might be lost due to the age. No such thing. Still very good. Glad I found it and even more happy that I opened it.

Dark, purple and a somewhat opaque colour. Rich, intense nose with some complexity; lots of dark berries, a whiff of coffee and chocolate, oak, laurel and herbs. Mediumbodied plus with good acidity on the palate, there is a good amount of dark fruit and some chocolate. Pretty round and smooth tannins and a very good length. I had it with an entrecôte, home-made strips, red wine-sauce, harico verts and béarnaise-butter. Touché!

Full body, dark layered fruits of black currants, raisins, touch of licorice and tobacco. Smooth with mid palate acidity. Has gotten better with age. Very soft or hardly any noticeable tannin. Solid structure. Very nice wine. Suggest decanting for 30 mins. Was better on day one than day 2.

WOW said my wife with the first sip. Unlike some previous reviewers we think this wine is in a prime drinking window with some time at peak left. Huge fruit with a nice balancing acidity. Too bad it was our only bottle.................

Wine is deep purple in color, on the nose are hints of cherry, cinnamon and clove. On the palate is cherry, clove and tobacco. This is a very nice wine and is drinking exceptional well right now, however the window is closing, so drink it now.

Fine wine, better than my previous one. P&P. Roasted notes, milk chocolate. Some lactic notes. Low acidity but I liked it. Last botlle for me but I advice to drink this wine NOW.

Never had an Argentine Malbec that was similar to Cahors, including this when it was younger. But now? It's all black, dry and dusty, with no apparent tannins left. Surprising.

Opaque, inky garnet with some purple in the rim. Clean, intensity med+, maturing (but still some time to go). Notes of plumb, licorice, coffee bean, some floral characters and a hint of chocolate liquor on the end - very nice. On the palate: dry, medium intensity, high alcohol and full bodied. Was a 91 with 2 hrs aeration. Was a bit clipped and introverted pnp. Has aromas of blueberries, plums, raspberries, and blackberries with vanilla hints. Medium bodied elongated and freshly fruited palate with lovely plush middle. Ends mediumish and a bit grippy. Can be laid 2 years+ to develop. Needs patience.

My last bottle of the half-case bought in March 2013. Not your average Malbec, with complexity and fruit that requires cellaring and clearly has more than a couple of years of life left. On the palate, ripe but not overly sweet, with good fruit concentration. Resembles a good Washington Cab, without excesses. That said, this is no competition to a good Barolo or Brunello, in terms of tertiary notes and overall complexity.

By the glass at the BA lounge from a bottle opened. Youthful and fresh, forward and on the fruit. Light oak , ripe fruit, good extract and lively tannin.
