Steinig, kühl, mit rauchigen Noten, blondem Tabak und Heidelbeeren; straffer Auftakt, knackige Frucht, feine, jedoch markante Tannine, gute Länge, rotfruchtiges Finish. Ein mittelkräftiger, frischer Pomerol. Trinken von 2028 bis 2048 91 vvPunkte

Bordeaux is my favorite region but was disappointed with this one. Doesn't taste like a Bordeaux wine and isn't worth the money.

Hint of Brett(?). Not sure and this opened up eventually but given the vintage, I was expecting more.

Medium bodied, deep blackberry and herb with a touch of smoke and maybe mint? Great companion for beef Wellington. Exactly what I want from Bordeaux at this price point.

A delightful Pomerol with a bold blue and black berry nose and subtle earthy and herbal overtones typical of Cab Franc. The palate is complex beginning with ripe black berry and plum fruits complemented with earthy notes of tar, tobacco and liquorice and a velvet mouthfeel and delicate tannin finish. An excellent wine in a good place right now that matched up deliciously with juicy lamb steaks.

Bordeaux geek out (Richard's place, Sydney) : Farmyard, with time oak spice notes, sweet soft plums, umami, a little horse shit, menthol notes, leather. Juicy, fleshy, the silkiest whisper of tannins, fruit sweet, the Brett and tertiary notes completes the palate. I enjoyed this far more than my lunchtime companions but i have no issue with Brett (most of the time)

Château Plince (v16, 14% ABV, 72% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc & 5% Cabernet Sauvignon). Must have been five years since I have had it. My loss. Shining for #Bordeaux2024 in all Pomerol glory - balanced to the toes, deep, brooding, fruit-perfected & emerging tertiary. One f those darkish fall evenings, surely. Claret, dense in appearance. Nose with rich, intense notes of black & blue fruit, underveg & earth, dried herbs, smoke & a tad of leather. Velvety, m+-bodied, juicy with …

A decent wine from Pomerol. Dark fruits, tobacco, leather, mushrooms, and very earthy. Tannins are present with a smooth finish. I enjoyed this wine.

Super dark fruits, earthy, and tobacco. Perfect balance. Tannins are really great too. Just an outstanding wine.

Incense, flowers, cherries, and spice fill nose, while the medium-bodied, palate is filled with bright, fresh, vibrant, red cherries, plums, and raspberries. This is a fresh, crisp styled, bright Pomerol. Drink from 2026-2036. 88-90 Pts.

90-92 Punkte.

I was pretty skeptical buying $35 Pomerol, and now I wish I'd grabbed more. This hints at being great wine, although I found myself wishing it were just a little more refined. Good mix of earth (forest floor, black tea, maybe a little cedar) and dark fruit (cherry, cassis). Moderate body and acidity. Drinkable now, will try my next in a few years.

Nice plush berry fruit, resolved tannins, this is drinking fantastic right now. I think it’s at its peak, it’s not likely to improve much more.

Old Bordeaux in Tokyo (Brasserie Paul Bocuse) : With Chatters, Vintomas and Mats @Brasserie Paul Bocuse. Theme: Old Bordeaux. 2023-04-01 Beautifully mature Bdx colour. My blind guess was Pauillac :-) Nose screams of Bdx, with cedar, Bdx earth and black currants. In the mouth is a lovely lovely wine. Panfried shrimp supporting the cassis, earth and mud in a fabulous way. This is up my alley!

Cellartracker in the flesh with Stefan, Akiko, Mats & Tomas (Paul Boucasse, Tokyo) : "Served blind. A little blood/iron, slight metallic notes, a little fishy and meaty, fresh plums, a little farmyard, leather, agitation makes the spicy notes pop a little and reveals wet stone and a little Ribena. Juicy tending to medium plus intensity acidity, dark hued fruits are savoury, a little herbaceous underpin, tannins are raw silk textured, a little dilute and gamey and a touch short. Hmm …

Despite the off year, this wine really brings a nice aged Bordeaux with fresh fruit, but some leather, sweaty horse, and tobacco.

First Wednesday Wine Club (Napoli in Bocca, Haberfield) : "Served Blind. Wet stone and a little cellar stink initially, red over black fruits, iron/blood, a little crushed rock, fruit sweetens with time in the glass. Juicy, fleshy, savoury fruits, crushed rocks, smoky notes, textured burr, slight alcohol warmth. Nice. I knew this was mine."

My rating is 89, at best. Somewhat disappointing.....very one dimensional. I expected a little more. The bottle was open for about an hour and followed by a one and a half hour decant. It did not improve through dinner. Maybe it just needs more time.

This is a decent Pomerol, but nothing remarkable. saturated garnet, plums, cherry and wood with a decent finish. quite opposite of the plush obvious style you typically find out of California, but lacks finesse and rather foursquare. 86-88

Barrel sample. The wine was dark purple in colour and showed red and dark fruit, oak, vanilla, coconut and hints of spice and smoke on the nose and palate, with medium-level acidity, fine tannin and good length. This medium-bodied Pomerol was balanced and smooth and had better concentration than the prior sample (Château d'Angludet, same price). I also preferred this Château Plince to the Clos Dubreuil (90% Merlot) that followed later in the lineup and expect it to drink beautifully …
