Malty, dried fruit, clay, and cocoa nose. Distinctly flavoured palate with assertive alcohol; warming and long finishing. It's been a while since I last sampled Redbreast. Prior to this tasting it was among my most often recommended Irish whiskies, but now there's too much mucky earth and not enough tender fruit in the profile for my liking; and at only 40% abv, the alcohol is a bit pointy.

Doughy, apple pastry, toast, nuts, malt, and earth nose. Warming to hot alcohol on the palate with bold malt and fruit flavours; toasted nut finish. I consider the 12 year an essential Irish whiskey and the 21 is among my favourite whiskies I have ever sampled; I was expecting to more out of the 15. 3/5

From a 50ml bottle. Like a cross between Glenmorangie 10yr and a high quality American corn whiskey. Very balanced with medium body, and the oak is subtle. A nice change of pace from other styles of whiskey, but not one that I would necessarily seek out very often.

Wonderfully balanced and drinkable Fancy Redbreast bottles have so far been more than worth the treat every time. Caramel, toffee, and spices carry the nose and persist through the palate. Gets spicier and more savory across the palate, always dynamic, always clean, always interesting. So many layers to the flavors. Finishes with cookies, wood notes, and more little notes of baking spices. Really a fun one to focus on and tease out the details.

At bar, nightcap served neat after huge italian meal. Perfect hint of sweet, always tasty, smooth burn… just solid after salty clams & linguini to settle the tummy.

2 years running just cant stop picking this RB to have nightcap, and there are plenty of options to choose. Has become a fav, right up there with Balvenie Doublewood 12 yr. Hard to beat the price/quality ratio.

Always reliable and so good, served neat with 2 drops of water. Drank a few over time allowing to open.

A nice copper hue Powerful nose, caramel, vanilla, all spice Pretty smooth, more caramel and vanilla, with a medium finish. Surprisingly complex with an excellent QPR. Looking forward to trying the 15 and the 21. Smoked a Paul Garmirian Gourmet

Nose: Quite powerful, nutty, dried fruits (dates?). Taste: Smoky (1-6) 2 Spicy(1-6) 4 Body (1-6) 4 Intensity(1-6) 6 Fruity(1-6) 4 Complex(1-6) 5 Medium bodied, with depth of taste, that lingers in fore tongue for > 20/25 secs! A true pleasure. I discovered Irish Whiskey with this one.

Solid. Not bad. Better than thought but not amazing

RB is well made whiskey. Flavor, smooth and somewhat distinct, inviting nose, and if drink straight up it is comparative to a good smooth and somewhat complex scotch as one reviewer stated. Little pricey maybe, but I shall continue to buy Redbreast, especially in making real Irish coffees.

Another RB very well made whiskey. This and the 12 yr are the best I have yet found for making true Irish coffee. If you can hassle to make em’ don't skip out on lighting up the alcohol & sugar on fire and makin’ the freshly whipped cream!

Some Roses (and some Irish Whiskey) (Next Door) : Still learning about Irish whisky. This was much rougher and more potent than the Green Spot but still nice. Deep brown/gold in color. The nose has a lot of alcohol. Some molasses. On the palate, powerful with some alcohol but not hot.

This is a good whisky but I find it inexpressive and underwhelming. Subdued nose of melted butterscotch and wood spice. More of the same in the mouth. A dessert whisky. Not a whisky to contemplate.

T-cork. $61/750 ml at Ohio prices, Kroger's. 40 percent abv. Bright green with a little yellow; color somewhat strange. Nose highly sherried, malty, with some linseed oiliness and citrus, at this time (before much air) quite simple. Sherry and sulfur and oil of fruit potential; with bakeshop sweetness. Fabulous! No notes - drank ages ago, forgot to remove from list.

Found this to be very smooth, but a full flavor profile. As someone who typically drinks scotch whiskey, I found this just as nice, albeit without the smokiness. Did not really miss the smoke as the was very flavorful. Certainly would look for this again.
