Basel Cellars Chardonnay

Best after a couple hours of air and just above cellar temp. Beautiful medium straw color, clear and sound. Light-medium strength bouquet of honeysuckle, marzipan, and a little scorched butter. Full bodied and bolder acidity, but the palate suffers a touch from the heat. The finish is outstanding however, and may elude to better days ahead. 5+11+17+8 = 91

PnP at cellar temp. Brilliant medium straw color and legs like molasses. Very expressive nose displays some hefty oak, but because it's a combination of French and Hungarian, it's a very different scent from the California buttered popcorn oak treatment I'm used to. It sits perfectly level with the ripe fruit aromas of lychee, lemon, grenadilla, banana, almond butter, and peach cream.
