Absolutely firing after some air time in bottle after popped. Dark berries, plum, tea leaves and licorice on the very sensual and aromatic bouquet followed closely by asian spice, black plums, cocoa, macerated strawberries and tea leaves. Great balance, good fruit concentration and structure here with time having done this wine some good - still a beast and frankly still has the legs to go on for another 5 to 10 years.

Pompette Salon 酌樂 Series X : Opened 2h before serving. Stronger and denser than 2010/2016, deep with the forest floor, tart. Quite muscular.

Very closed for the first hour, then rich brown spice and quite fat on the palate from the oak. Holding together well and in a good place.

Not a big burg guy so take it for what it’s worth. Started collecting in 05 and purchased a case. Had one of 9 remaining and it was amazing . Drinks perfect, easy tannins but fairly complex. May actually still have another year or so of developing but well worth drinking if you have one or find one

Awesome Cathiard nose almost from the moment we opened it. The palate was a bit thin, but still solid. I doubt this will improve, but we both truly enjoyed the nose alone.

Clear medium garnet; clean medium nose of musty dust, cherries, mud, leather, black licorice and barnyard; pfn with addition of sour cherries; medium plus acidity; medium minus body; medium tannins; dry; long finish; beautiful, elegant wine that redefined how I thought of Pinot noir

Not going to beat around the bush, this was great. A really complete wine. Rounded, complex, balanced. Lovely fruit, good minerality. Shows the classic Cathiard hallmarks, silky on the palate. Plenty of time to enjoy this. As an aside, there was a lot of sentiment on the bottle even though it had been standing up for a couple of weeks.

Slow ox'd for 6 hours. Bright red fruit, floral, nice minerality, hint of chocolate. very pretty. Wonderful balance. Just a bit less complexity than the rest of the wines tonight.

Chevalier Wine Tasting (Chicago, IL) : Nothing like the last bottle from the same case that I opened a few months ago. This bottle was all earthy and very advanced. Still showing very Vosne-like brown spice, but nowhere near what this bottle should be at this point in its evolution.

White House Dinner (Their House, Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong) : Light transparent lamb's blood colour. Nose is quite loamy, sous bois, lots of fruit, all fresh and nicely mature. Palate is mid-toned piano notes of acidity, tons of early summer strawberries. Reasonable length and resonance. Fresh and vibrant. Enjoyable but not remarkable.

Lots of red berry aromas and flavors with good freshness, lots of spice. Overall very charming. Still seems to have a hint of protruding new oak, which I think might have been slightly excessive for the fruit density.

Faint nose, floral with some leather. Pure, clean taste with some gamy undertones. Long finish, smoothly balanced.

Had this a week ago, and forgot to make notes. I recall it was a "pretty" wine, with a nice core of red fruit. Very nice, but not profound.

Fabulously complex and nuanced wine. Brilliant nose that developed glass by glass (shared bottle with friend). Strawberry and anise along with subtle earthiness. Superb wine.
