With age, the previously dark fruit character is becoming lighter, the morello-edged acidity more dominant. This bottle muted, even a touch closed, with an almost South African rubber note on the mid-palate; the squeaky tannins also feel like chewing on a rubber band. Nonetheless, a juicy cuvée from one of my favourite Burgenland producers. (86-)87P

Generous blackberry-raspberry-loganberry scent, luscious fruit on palate, quite weighty, shows its 14% alc. Juicy medium-long finish. Much improved after 1 hour in the decanter, I suspect it could have benefited from even longer. 89P

Bright dark cherry red colour; black cherry dominates nose and palate. 40% Merlot gives a strong velvety backbone, but the Blaufränkisch makes the balance much lighter, more like morello cherry and quite pleasantly sour, very reminiscent of a good new world Pinot Noir. Very interesting, delicious wine, fully mature. 89+

First rate, consistent with my other TNs. 90P
