Edmunds St. John Syrah Grand Heritage

Anyone who thinks syrah cannot be produced for aging in California should have tasted this wine last night at a blind tasting of syrahs from around the world (except Australia). All but one person guessed Northern Rhone from a vintage in the current decade. The structure of the wine was intact and well-delineated; there were still some tannins on the finish.
