2nd bottle of the ‘16. So typical of Viader-elegant style, terrific structure acid wise and firm tannins with the edge of the Malbec softened by the Cab. Best to decant at least 90 minutes which goes for Viader Cab blends generally and you’ll be rewarded. Dark fruit, apricot, moist soil all present with a full mouth feel and a medium finish. Viader ‘16s generally all drinking terrific right now and this is in it’s prime.

50/50 Malbec/cab blend that’s a little more fruit forward than their other offerings, giving it more of that new world style. It’s very drinkable now but will definitely improve with more time. Dark, juicy red fruit with just a hint of tobacco. Some vanilla and cedar at the finish.

Well made, and more heavily weighted to Cab Franc than the other cuvees (I believe >50% but not certain) which adds a redder more herbal character, and silkier/softer tannins. One of my favorites of theirs.
