Vina Carić Plavac Mali Plovac Ploški barrique Ivan Dolac

Too much dominated by sweet fruit. Not my favorite style. UPDATED: After one week in fridge, that excessive sweet fruit faded away and wine got much more interesting and enjoyable. 89-90 pts.

This needed some air to get going. After an hour open, we had wonderful lingonberry with a hint of cherry on the nose. The palate shows excellent bitterchocolate on the attack, with good lingonberry and lots of tannins on the midpalate and a finish of sweet red fruit. I really like this and will be looking for more.

Decanted for an hour. Oh, mmm, very delicious, wonderful aromas of Plavac Mali, an elegant lingonberry with good dried fruits coming out. The palate is also delicious, excellent tannins, dried fig and lingonberry, good acidity, just everything together in this wine. I will certainly be looking for more of this when in Croatia the next time!
