Edna Valley Vineyard Syrah Paragon

This wine may have reached its limit. Started out OK but off flavors developed.

Heavy tannin. May be a little past it's prime. Fruit comes out more with spicy food.

Very good syrah. Spicey, fruity, balanced, good bouquet, depth. Guess we like this wine.

Smooth start, some floral, notes, but Couldn't get over the harsh ending

Popped and poured. Medium-plus violet hue. Aromas of black and blue fruits, black pepper, with a hint of fresh herbs. Medium-plus body. Fresh blackberry and blueberry combine with oak and spice on the palate. However, the oak is used judiciously and comes across as high quality, which really works well to accent the uncomplicated fruit. Strong fruit, mild tannin. Very drinkable. Good with pizza.

Pepper and Berries - decanted for 1 hour. Good QPR.

a nice effort and decent QPR...inky purple color...not too much oak, letting the syrah shine through...not rich or a big fruit bomb, but an easy to drink cooler climate syrah

Really drinkable hints of white pepper and blueberry with some dessert like qualities on the back palate. After being opened for a couple hours the wine really filled out with hints of creme brulee underneath all that pepper and berry.
