Although there was still some fruit left, there was a definite hint of oxydation. Clearly past its prime, although we finished the bottle.

Past its prime (if, in fact, it ever had a prime). Nondescript nose. The taste: some generic raspberry, oak and vanilla, and a huge mess o' chalky tannins that will suck every last gram of moisture out of your tongue and cheeks.

Decent wine...nothing too notable. Fairly light all around.

This has smoothed nicely with the bit of bottle age. A fruit-forward blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet, it has a touch of acid and earth to counter balance the fruit. A really nice every day drink.

The final bottle, as Osborne is phasing out Solaz in favor of a wine that is not nearly as well-made or as interesting. The Solaz was everything that it had always been -- fruity, some Spanish acid, decent tannins, and a beginning, a middle, and an end. How often can one say that about a $7 wine? We will miss you, Solaz.

Just fine consumed with Bobby Flay's green chile burgers and toasted avocado salad! This is a very versatile, inexpensive red wine.

Once more, very good with our pizza, consumed while watching my beloved N.Y. Jets dismantle the Bengals! This is a very solid, if inexpensive, Spanish red wine.

This was very nearly delicious with our handmade spicy pizza! Not very complex, but suitably spicy and high acidity courtesy of the 80% tempranillo.

When i first tasted this wine on its own it seemed unbalanced & too stringent. There was no upfront fruit & it left a pencil shaving/ rubber finish. But this wine surprisingly paired really well with the pork dish we had for dinner. Once paired with the food the spices & fruit began to step forward and balance the wine.

Officially my best QPR wine of the year!! A medium ruby in the glass, this Spanish red blend has a nose of red fruits, cassis, a hint of vanilla, and spice. This carried through to the palate with the bright red fruit of the 80% tempranillo balanced by the blue/black fruit, tannin, and cassis of the 20% cabernet sauvignon. This was decent through the mid-palate and on into the 15- or so second-long finish. Amazing value at 6$! Am going …
