Everything still there and nicely mellowed out. Needs maybe a wee bit more snap from the acids, but made for a lovely glass. Nice to have patience paid back by a wine that hasn't fallen apart (or one that never came together).

Wonderful wine. great opening with contained fruit that moves smoothly from fruit into vanilla and into a great finish with a touch of flint and citrus to balance out close.

Drank this last night next to a 2005 Sangiacomo. The Twin Hill is not a big or fruit forward as the Sangiacomo, but still quite nice. The fruit is more tangy like an apple or citrus fruit with a bit more acidity. Still a full wine with a long finish like all Chasseur wines. Enjoy!!!

Fantastic Cali Chardonnay that is drinking very nicely right now. I'm giving it an additional point from my last review. The oak has balanced out a bit more with the rich fruit on top of a nice mineral backbone taking the lead. Highly recommended for those who love a well balanced, but still big Cali Chard. Enjoy!!!

This was a stunning, opulent, sexy bottle of chard. Full and rich with big aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, ripe apples, nuts, spice and oak. The palate was well balanced with good acidity that cut the cream sauce we paired with it, but had more than enough body and richness to stand up to the weight and spice of the sauce. The oak is very prominent on the nose, but it does balance with a good dose of tropical fruits and apple. As with the nose, the palate has a lot of oak, but again, well integrated with the fruit. This wine has a rich mouthfeel and a very deep golden color. Nice finish of walnuts, apples, and some tropical fruit.

This is really coming together well. Rich nose of stewed apples and spiced pineapple, like day 2 a year ago. Pineapples, peaches and ripe melon on the palate with good acidic lift and a little toasty oak. Great mouthfeel and a long finish. A great Chasseur.

The Chasseur wines are consistently excellent and this was no exception, I found it similar to many Ramey Chardonnays with its richness, balance, and oak seasoning, distinctly California ripe but not tiring to drink over the course of several hours. This drank better on the warm side, and went well with green-apple risotto with cabbage and bacon. Not a daily drinker for my palate or for my wallet, but certainly competitive with other Chards in its price range.

Not anything like my first bottle a year ago. Very little fruit, lots of oak and a lot of heat. Hopefully either a bad bottle or in a bad spot. I'll let my last one rest for a little while.

Had this next to the Lorenzo bottling and enjoyed it just a bit more. Deep yellow color that gives up a big nose of fruit and oak. The fruit has a little more of an apricot to peach taste, as opposed to the lemon and apple of the Lorenzo. A rich wine that is supported by a decent mineral backbone. Another long finish, which is typical of the Chasseur Chards. Delicious! Enjoy!!!

Light golden yellow in color with hints of citrus & smoke on the nose. Medium bodied wine that showed flavors of lemon, wet stones & pineapple. Good acidity but lacking in complexity. This is a very good wine but is one dimensional. Personally I like the Sonoma & RRV Chards opposed to the SVD's Chards and especially considering the extra coin for the SVD's. 50+5+13+16+5=89

I Had a Blast in Atlanta! Kistler, Kutch, KB, Arcadian, SQN, Trimbach, Littorai & More (Dynamic Dish, Atlanta, Georgia) : This was awesome too. I thought this was sweet with some but not an overpowering amount of oak. This was great and a definite buy.

Fairly reticent nose but the palate was impressive. It fills your mouth with full-bodied fruit but is never heavy due to the perfect balance of fruit, oak, minerality and acidity. If only the nose were better. Day 2...better nose of baked apples and spiced pineapple, but the palate seemed to fall apart. A lot of the rich fruit was gone. Not what I expected from Day 2. Would have been a 94 Day 1.

2005 Chasseur Chardonnay Green Acres Hill Sangiacomo- Wow, this is an immense wine. You really get a feel for what's to come from the nose. Deep rich spicey apple and toast. I opened and cooled in the cellar and we enjoyed over a few hours. It really hit it's peak after being open in the bottle 3 hours. Peach and tropical flavors with a nice citrus and mineral balance. Outstanding effort from small, Sonoma producer. This has a classic California Chard nose, opening with citrus and excellent butter overtones. Superb acidity, pronounced oak, but well balanced. After an hour or so, a distinct buttercream frosting/vanilla began to present. Long lingering finish. Sublime.

CG rated this 96Pts. That is way overblown for this Chardonnay. I'm a big fan of Chasseur but have had much better in other vintages. It is a good solid Chardonnay but not with the individual character that some of these can have. WS gave it 91pts and I'd have to say they are more realistic. Good but not great.

Lots off the nose, and lots of flavor, but not terribly distinctive. Trying to bridge the gap to Chassange and not quite getting there, with a vanilla-oak distraction getting in the way. Not a bad stereotype, but too close for comfort. Day 3 update: more minerality and complexity now. If I had more, I'd let them sit a year or two and be cautiously optimistic.

Light gold color with a hint of green, and a bit cloudy. Nose of pebbles, browned butter, lemons, almonds, and cheesecake. Suave upon entry, rounding out with lemon, white corn, orange blossom, and nectarine flavors through the mid-palate. Deceptively concentrated and sublime, its length framed by citrus and leesey nuances. The full range of flavors doesn't linger, but there is a subtle persistence here, along with a clean, pure character and minerality that distinguishes this from most Chardonnay.
