Wonderfully put together. The benefits of a stellar vintage are evident. Purity of fruit, violets on the nose, milk chocolate on the mid palate (HT to Tom for the inspiration), silky, fine tannins. Perhaps lacks the length of the main wine but this is so good.

Absolutely gorgeous. Plush, fresh, delicious. Grape from first poor, didn’t eat much here, fatten a bit after an hour or so, drink now but no rush

YES. Surprisingly good given other ratings. Very characteristic bdx and out a creamy texture in the mouth, acidity dropping off with age perhaps but good fruit. Some pleasant 2nd-ary aromas. Not a star but a very good wine.

The vintage absolutely carries this and 3/4 of us preferred it to the 2013 main wine semi- blind. Generous fruit and has a smoothness and elegance - soft and supple with silky tannins and got better in the glass. Semi blind, this scored 92-93 points.

Although still young already approachable. Beautifully matured dark berries. Chocolate, liquorice, subtle toast and tobacco. Elegant and complex, with much depth. Beautiful! Give this gem another decade to fully blossom.

This is so good right now! Very reminiscent of the vintage - soft silky and scrumcous. The balance is impeccable. The finesse and grace of the vintage, plus ample power and dense dark fruits make this an amazing wine to enjoy! Sadly one left of 6. Needs about an hour decant to let it show its stuff.

Showing a bit better this time with 2hr decant. Less green pepper, more currant. Body seems to have improved with air too! More on the fuller side than prior. I sense it would improve in time, no rush to drink these if you have them.

Medium bodied, a bit of green pepper up front that gives way to echos of cassis and currants. Jeff below suggests the "greens" are due to the higher percentage of Cab Franc in this vintage - interesting point! Nice mouthful, great structure and silky smooth finish. Having had the '18 and '19 - which are very similar, the 2016 comes in 3rd. The other two vintages are bold and full-bodied by comparison and no green pepper to speak of. Not …

In the bouquet some rustic and earthy flavors, cassis and luxurious toasted oak. Same on the palate, cassis, dark and some red berries, spiciness, oak and cedar, good and fresh acidity and tannin. Beautiful and luxurious wine which needs another 7 – 10+ years of ageing to reach young maturity stage. Very promising wine. 91 – 94 for now.

Sorry to disagree with Jeff on this one, but this is really good. We don't often see this wine at the SAQ and wanted to try the 2016 after having a great experience with the 2012 a few years ago. The nose and the palate are very expressive and already quite complex, with aromas of dark chocolate, leather, almond and notes of coffee. Well balanced and offering a long finish. This can obviously be enjoyed now, but I'd have no …

Sweet black cherries, herbs, plum and bitter chocolate on the nose and palate with a fresh blast of spicy red berries and green herbs in the finish. The herbal notes come from the large portion of Cabernet Franc in the blend. Give this a year of two and enjoy over the decade while waiting for the Grand Vin to develop.

Mellow nose of sweet red berries, ripe berries and mocha. A tannic wine but doesn’t have to fruit intensity to balance out the structure. Much less low pitched compared to the lovely 2015 Esperance de Trotanoy. (83-85/100)
