This is quite nice now. Starts w subtle sweetness and ends w subtle petrol. Good texture with acid still alive

Interesting, subtle, highly complex nose with white peaches, ginger, pepper, so exotic, really intoxicating. The palate is elegant, fine, precise, but has also power and substance. Lovely soft texture already hinting some age bit of course still so young. Balanced acidity and such length. I always love the dry Rieslings from Loosen but this is especially convincing. Will probably age forever. 18.5/20

This wine evolved. I should have decanted it for a bit, the last glass was the best. At first, lemon-lime with a strict acid streak down the middle and some bitterness on the finish. After it started to open up stone fruit and citrus zest began to emerge along with subtle white floral character. The mid-palate really filled out and the finish become very long at the end. Based on this experience I would give this a decant (2 hours?) …

For me a perfect dry Mosel Riesling. Saturated yellow. Beautiful nose with a lot of minerality, wet stones. Perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. At the beginning of the window.

Lovely. Not too dry. Minerality, very easy drinking, will finish before you think! Good acidity, it's fresh. Drinking well now, but has many more years. No "petrol" notes, very delicate and pleasant

WE: Minerality and texture are highlighted in this late-release GG. It's quiet on the nose with delicate hints of white grapefruit and stone. While dry in style, the palate is exuberant, plump and silky boasting ripe white-grapefruit flavor marked by caramel and honey. This juicy yet elegant wine is balanced by fresh acidity and a long mineral finish. Selected from an extremely old (120+ years) parcel of vines called Urglück, located in the original part of the Würzgarten vineyard, directly …

Bummed. Deleted my notes before loading into CellarTracker. Should have done it as we drank the wine. Digging into my hazy memory this wine surprised me. A little advanced, honeyed. Almost off dry. Nowhere near as mineral and fine as I had expected. Good wine but not great

WOW. Minerality dominates the nose with a flinty smokiness. Pepper is prevelant (there’s a reason the vineyard is called “spice garden”), along with fresh lemon/citrus. Ample acidity livens everything and makes this a hard wine to put down. While I understand conventional thinking suggests cellaring, it’s drinking wonderfully right now. Petrol and honey notes may develop with time, but hard to imagine this objectively getting better.

Sensational quality but this is clearly a long distance runner for the future; lots of tropical peach, tangerine fruits mixed with elder flowers, ginger, lychee (quite Gewurzt-like actually). Super tense, fresh acidity that is very racy and tightens up at first. We decanted this a good hour+ and enjoyed it over 3+ hours. I would give it at least 4-5 years before checking up on again but this needs a solid 10 to see what you're actually dealing with. Very …

Sehr helles Goldgelb.

GG Riesling Night (S.K.Y. restaurant, Pilsen, Chicago IL) : Nose: The nose is lively and fresh with pears, green apples, acacia flowers, chamomile, ginger, peaches, spice notes, saline, and crushed rocks. There is a lot of complexity at the moment but it seems to be holding back a slight bit right now. Taste: The feel is medium bodied with racy, high acidity. The acidity has some real sting while showing good depth and poise with pears, green apples, acacia flowers, …

Alongside the Graacher Himmelreich. Much more expressive, from 100 year old vines, and showing a complex of yellow fruits, lavender, spices. Fleshy and fat on the palate, and big matching acidity. Persistent finish; good.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #020: Riesling Grosses Gewächs (By JdB) : In the bouquet white fruits, minerals, flowers, citrus and some petrol. On the palate white fruits, minerals, good acidity, bitterness and length. Pineapple, grapefruits and some caramel in the taste as well.

Made from fruit sourced from very old vines averaging ~100 years. 7,1 g/l acidity. Surprisingly neutral, almost colorless whitish-green appearance. Very open, expressive and attractively perfumed nose with fragrant aromas of ripe citrus fruits, key lime zest, some honeyed tones, a little bit of peach and a floral hint of apple blossom. The wine is medium-bodied, bright and surprisingly dense on the palate with fresh, dry flavors of ripe red apples, tangy citrus fruits, some spicy minerality, a little bit …

This is a truly GG Riesling wine, amazing purity of fruit: one of the few wines that gives you the sense that you are drinking some ethereal grape nectar juice. Floral, fruity, elegant with great balance, depth and length.

This bottle continued my amazement with this producer's dry Rieslings. Flavor, texture, balance and incredible length were all there. Wish to have more.

Notable for its aromatic contribution--clearly Riesling. Nice acidic spine and gobs of fruit flavors. Could drink this every day.

Great classical Mosel Riesling, fine fruits as pineapple, lemon, passionfruit, a lot of minerality, a baby, a great balance between the crispy acidity and fruit sweetness. will last for at least 10 years. now 92, potential to 95 , will try it again in 2 years

Not terribly enjoyable today. Slight spritz, otherwise typical pale colour of young riesling, a bit on the grey side. Taste: well, you sure know this is grape juice. Pure, sweet (although the label boldy and incorrectly says "trocken") and a bit shallow on the palate. Put another way: as insipidly boring as a Sunday School homily (but it is probably Good For You). Short, slightly sulphurous finish. Perhaps this is destined for greatness in 10 years, or perhaps it is …
