Les Vins de Vienne Saint-Joseph

Rich aromatics, dark berries, smoke, some game. Fruit dominating savory at the moment. Nice acidity. Tastes like N. Rhone, but it a slightly more fruit forward way. Not terribly complex. This serves as a good intro to the region, and the price is very fair. Solid, tasty Syrah, might even be interesting to try in a few years. One of those wines that might not wow anyone, but the price is good and it's a nice representative of the appellation.

‘Crozes is always more spicy, richer than St Joseph.’ There is a freshness here, but also a softer expression than the Crozes.
