This was absolutely delicious. Better than expected. Still has plenty of life left in it and I hope that one bottle cellartracker says I still have is actually there.

Liquid Farm, Janasse, Fontodi, Wind Gap, Thackrey ++; 12/5/2014-12/6/2014 (TNT) : This is in a nice place right now. Ruby in color. The nose has nice strawberries and raspberries. More complex on the palate than the nose. It is feminine and elegant. Medium bodied. More "Charvin" than "Clos des Papes" in CdP terms. Very pretty wine. The crowd seemed to want more, but I enjoyed this wine. While I think it might work with some foods, it was ok, but …

Dark ppurple color in the glass nose of raspberries and strawberries. Tart fruit on the palate, raspberry and some heat on the finish. Nice balance of fruit and acid/tannins now, so ready to drink. Unlikely to improve further IMHO so enjoy!

Wasn't sure what to expect with this one. Giant fruit bomb that's fallen away with age? Nope, a beautiful wine. Dark garnet color fading at the edges. Fine tannins are the base for a clean dark berry fruit flavor combined with garrigue. This would slip past a Rhone lover.

Opened this up y/day. Brig's note appears just below mine and while I have great respect for Brig's palate, he appears to like it more than I, to be good with the oomph the wine shows. For this bottle, I think it may have been the first bottle I had bought from what was then the introuductory Wind Gap release after the Pax divorce. This is an interesting wine to consider, as within the Wind Gap approach, this wine would …

Tasty boysenberry on the nose and palate with spice and mineral notes finishing with juicy tannins. Hides the high ETOH quite well.

Good spice, some mineral with juicy red fruit, bringing with it too some jammy quality. There is some herb to give it a savory note and some drying tannin, suggesting the wine can and should age further.

The nose had black currant and cherry, tar, pepper, and smoke. The palate was juicy, and had smoke and black currant, tar, and a nice sour cherry finish.

2007 Novy Syrah Party + A Pile Of Other Things (The Murray Casa) : Pulled on a whim so I could let a few other people get a look at this wine. We decanted it the best we could, given that I pulled it out mid-stream into the event. Sweet strawberry, chalk and this time, seemed like some higher oak edges. I would like to revisit my other notes and see how much oak Pax put on this to affirm …

15.5% alcohol with neutral oak. Of all the Wind Gap wines we tasted, this was the biggest. Thick in texture, pure strawberry and boysenberry fruit. Some game, too. Glycerine.
