Not as enjoyable as a previous bottle about 2 years ago. This was fruity and very primary. Tasted like it was 3 years old, not 13.

Very nice bottle. It started off a little hot and closed, but with a little air developed nice notes of cherry, leather, oak, and a little menthol. Very smooth with well integrated tenants, nice acidity too. I will probably Open my other bottle in about a year.

No significant change from my 6/23/14 tasting note other than finding slight sediment in the last glass. I only purchased two of these back in 2011 and I'm truly regretting it now. Continues to be a pleasure to drink, which I would do over the next three to four years.

This was decanted for one hour leaving a moderate granular sediment. It was served with dinner several days ago and I did not make written notes so these comments are from fading mental impressions. The aromatics were quite prominent right from the get-go with suggestions of dark berries, garrigue, green olives, and a subtle floral component. It has a very solid mouth feel with luscious ripe well defined flavors showing some nice emerging secondary components hinting of blackberry, raspberry, licorice, …

This managed to show evidence of both cork taint and brett. First time I've seen both in the same bottle. Undrinkable.

Opened and poured. Opens fully to a classic CdP Grenache based nose with no overt aromas that don't belong. Tastes just like it smells with subtle dark fruit, mostly spice and clean earth, barely noticeable tannin, elegant and smooth, with a lengthy full bodied finish. Nothing is out of place with this wine and it's a complete pleasure to drink. Refined and smooth enough to sip casually with the body and structure to match most food pairings. Completely ready to …

Decanted 90 minutes. A sublime CdP, dominated by black fruits, brooding blue fruits, and balanced with more blackberry, subtle cobbler spice, and great acidic and tannin balance on the finish. Medium-long length. An absolutely gorgeous wine, that paired perfectly with roasted rack of lamb.

Nice aromas of dark berries. Flavors are dark and light berries. No noticeable oak, with smooth fruit taste -- alcohol and tannins in balance and nicely integrated. Cloudy purple color with small amount of fine sediment.

Rich, sweet berries and a musky floral note on the nose, followed by more of the former on the palate. Velvety in the mouth. A little sediment on this one, but not excessive. Very good.

Pretty tannic, but lots of fruit and acidity, a bit alcoholic and doesn't seem that integrated or in balance at this point, maybe it will improve but I'll give the rest another 2 years.

Had spent 50-min in decanter @68F at tasting. This is actually my first taste of the '07 vintage, which for so many must seem like so Yesterday...oh well, here goes. COLOR- dark and extracted with plenty of particulates adding to the purple fog. NOSE- crushed flower petals, dark/but sweet fruit, black raspberry/cherry, walnut oil, dry pine needles; quite perfumed; dark and with substantial depth for its age; excellent nose. PALATE- wow.. if this is what all the hubbub is about, …

Dark purple color. Nose of creme de <some black fruit>, flowers, asphalt, and definitely some alcohol. Somewhat hefty on the palate, the sweet fruit moves toward the tart, playing out with noticeable particulates and more floral flavors. As it finishes, beefy tannins and significant acid take over. Some stony-ness gets in the mix, too. Thankfully, not too hot. But nothing special, overall.

This got bigger as the night went on. Lots of sediment and grape skins... violets.. flinty stone... really pumped out the flavors. Decanted briefly.

2007 Chateauneufs (K&L Wines, San Francisco) : Deep purple. Whole dark berries and olive on the nose. Medium body. Notably good acidity. This really caught my attention because of its explosive inner mouth perfume and complex tobacco notes. Very good and may be worth a look at the $30 price point.
