Initially thin and watery on the attack with an intriguing finish of dried cherry and nice acid. With some air and time this opened up, rounded out and is rather soft for a Barbera but finishing with sour cherry and good acid balance. Not getting better from here, drink up!

This felt a touch green after the previous bottle (an overripe and oversweet Merlot), but was actually quite a pleasant basic sipper. Lacks the zippy acidity I've liked in some other Barberas. Pleasant but not worth the purchase when Chiarlo's entry-level Barbera is the same price and more widely available. 13.5%, $12.
