Tropical & dried fruit on the nose, rich sugar well balanced by a good acidity. A very good interpretation of muscat de Rivesaltes.

Not particularly intense, but very enjoyable. Honey is the most prominent aroma and flavor. Both my companion and I found it oddly (but pleasantly) "salty" - but I wonder if that is a result of suggestion from the name...

Tasted blind. Quite deep coppery color. Quite luscious and almost over-the-top nose with intensely sweet aromas of perfumed floral tones, birch sap, pine resin, some leafy green tones, a little bit of wildhoney, light apple juice concentrate notes and a hint of developed nuttiness. The wine is very sweet, concentrated and sticky on the palate with full-body and very luscious yet lively flavors of honey, syrupy fruit salad, acacia honey, some canned pineapple, a little bit of floral spice and …

Smells like lemon/lime meringue. Like a Key Lime Pie perhaps? Taste is full and a bit watery. Not as good as the nose. Still a decent dessert wine. 50+5+12+13+7 (87p)

Domaine Cazes Tasting (Rivesaltes, France) : Peachy, honeyed aromas. Waxy-sweet on the palate, with flavors of lychee, honey, yellow flowers. Not very deep, but rich and fun.

Pale yellow. Nose opens with pear, honey and white floral. Decent fruit to acid balance. Moderately sweet. Lite notes of pear and vanilla. Not a very complex dessert wine. Finish is very short with an annoying hot astringency. At this price point can do better. Will revisit tomorrow. Day 2. Not much of a change.
