90 minute decant. Powerful nose of black currant, black licorice, spice, menthol, and notes of shoe polish. Palate delivers black cherry, dark chocolate, sage, and leather with medium acidity. Powdery tannins and black cherry compote with a long apple wood and cedar finish. 100% can without undue French oak influence, it shows the varietal character.

Similar to my prior review. This drank even better on day 2 so I think it will continue to improve with a bit more age

Smooth and nice if typical. Modern in style. Not much complexity to bring to the next level.

Deep ruby core straight to the rim. Pronounced black fruit. Plum, cherry, blackberry with a little licorice and vanilla. Full body, medium acid. Medium tannins that have started to soften and integrate but still provide a slightly grippy profile. Medium profile. Lovely wine and looking forward to trying my other. vintages.

Smooth and rich but not overdone. Maybe a couple points upside from here with a little more integration. Very nice wine

This was just lovely and drinking very well (though it has the stuffing for another several years). Black fruits and floral notes on the nose evolve into a delicate and well-balanced mixture of herbs and blackberries when tasted. A beautifully made wine.

Seems there is a fair amount of variability in how folks feel this one’s showing at the moment. As the winemaker felt this was ready as a pop and poor, that’s how we served it. Our bottle was certainly enjoyable that way, but I can see clear room for improvement with time in the cellar. The tannins are youthful and a bit noticeable at this stage, but there’s plenty of black fruit and a little licorice to help cover them. …

My wife thought this was excellent, though I was less convinced. It is certainly too young -- not undrinkable, but with scratchy tannins that should fade in another 3-5 years.

Moderately+ scaled with purple fruits, black licorice and herbs. Moderate tannins that are already approachable. Moderate length. Drinking nicely with room for improvement.
