Decanted for 45 minutes. Paired with a NY strip at Giannis in Wayzata on a fantastic summer day after 4 hours boating on Lake Minnetonka and a couple hours in the wine cellar socializing and talking wine. Optimal storage conditions since purchase, consumed in a fantastic setting with a good crew. That's the backstory. Long story short, I believe this is going to be a fantastic wine. But right now it is just way too young. Those tannins are still …

8 years out - still pretty red with hints of brown, legs are slowing down, no sediment yet. It's rounded out and smooth but could benefit from more time in the bottle to further develop the medium to full body. First nose of forest floor, mineral and cherry. Deep cherry, oak, with earthy forest flavors and slight minerality. Long finish with low-medium acidity.

Maison Marques&Domaines Il Giro portfolio (The Hoxton, Portland OR) : The nose is deep and soulful with layered tones of red cherries, strawberries, wet clay notes, raspberries, herbal spices, violets, crushed florals, crushed rocks, and loads of fresh herb tones. The tannins are deceptive as they really creep up on the back end to let you know that this is still very much a …

Surprisingly delicious. Ruby red color, nice nose of tar, dark red cherries, rose petals and spice. Decanted and aerated for an hour then drank over 90 minutes. Beautiful mature red fruit on the palate, some spice, good acidity and lift mid palate, and a nice finish with subtle tannins. Very well structured brunello with potential for more aging but drinking really well now.
