Comte Armand Auxey-Duresses Rouge

Lots of energy here, a touch of rusticity, and a prominent granite cherry fuzz finish. Still a little tight perhaps

This is a really nice village Auxey with juicy, earthy, somewhat rustic, midweight red fruit, subtle floral notes and chalky tannins. Drinking well almost immediately after opening. Delightful!!

Tight and unforgiving but with good substance and potential. Meaty midpalate. A little stroppy at present and the undoubtedly lovely (albeit faint) fruit is strangled by clunky tannins. Not in a good place now but I am optimistic this will develop a bit more charm and finesse with 5 yrs bottle age.

An excellent village level Auxey. Succulent and juicy red fruit, floral and almost sauvage notes before a savory mineral tug on the finish. Well delineated with a bit of flashiness for this energetic wine. A very textural and gregarious burgundy with a full mid-palate. Tannin is fine and a bit invigorating, but this round but balanced wine and no reason to wait. Really good QPR at ~$50. Drink over the next 5.
