Ramsay Cabernet Sauvignon

purple, medium/light body, mild aromas of dark fruits/cassis, balanced earthiness oak and dark fruit, modest finish, a hollowed out version of a nice old world wine and a decent qpr at $12

Just being a varietally correct California cab at ~$12 makes this a great value but even tasted blind it would hold its own against wines cost twice that, or more. This shows a nice red fruit core with ample structure. The finish is a bit short and overall this wine is a bit on the simple side, but not in a way that's entirely different than a higher quality cab drunk this young.

Mid-dark purple; mint, berry, ripe grape nose; mid-body; decent tannins and acids; good style for a $10 wine. woody finish.

Mainstream style done really well in an honest, not loaded up with sugar sort of way.

Great quality for the price. Muted upon opening but full body just a few minutes after exposed to some air.

Tasted this over 2 days. First tasting was with beef pot roast. Nose is dark fruit with a touch of chocolate. Fruit forward cherry chocolate palate, a little sweet, with velvety tannins and a bit too much oak. Nice wine. Second tasting the next day was a delight. Sipped with a strong cheddar and the oak was much better integrated and balanced. Still fruit forward but with better balance. Highly recommend and changed my rating from 86 to 89. Great …
